TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno warned about the possibility of counterfeit money in circulation ahead of the Eid and reminded people to exchange money in official outlets.
"There are 160 [official] places to get small bills. These places don't charge fees," Sandiaga said in Jakarta, Wednesday, May 23.

Bank Indonesia (BI) also provides money mobiles, in collaboration with other national banks, that provide small bills for people. The service is available until May 25 at the National Monument's (Monas) IRTI Field. There are 14 cars from 13 banks, including BRI, Mandiri, BNI, BCA, BTN, CIMB Niaga, Bank BJB, Bank Mega, and Bank DKI.
If there is no other option but to exchange money in non-registered agencies, Sandiaga urged the public to be careful. He said that in Ramadan and ahead of the Eid, there is usually rampant circulation of counterfeit money.
"One of every three million billion is counterfeit. Please be alert," Sandiaga Uno said.
