According to Satya, Jakpro initially planned to bring only two or four LRT train units. However, the Hyundai Rotem turned out to have prepared six units. “They have prepared six trains and are considering to bring them all together for efficiency,” said Satya at Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, May 23.
In April, two LRT train units arrived in Jakarta. It will be operated for the transportation of 2018 Asian Games.
Satya said that currently, Jakpro is still awaiting the test results of two units by the Ministry of Transportation before performing a road test.
Satya hopes Jakpro will conduct the road test no later than at the end of July. “But the sooner the better. Based on the schedule, it should be finished in June,” he said, adding that the testing of six LRT trains will be done after.
Therefore, said Satya, there are eight LRT trains that will operate during the 2018 Asian Games on August 18 to September 2.
