Xiaomi Redmi S2 to be Released in Indonesia

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A Chinese electronic firm Xiaomi will release its latest smartphone Xiaomi Redmi S2 in Indonesia tomorrow on May 22, after announcing the product in its country on May 11, 2018, as cited in Xiaomi Indonesia’s official Twitter account @xiaomiindonesia.

Earlier, Xiaomi Indonesia has continuously posted a bit of information of the specification of the phone with a code series ‘S’ and even the account administrator throw a riddle for Mi Fans related the issue.

In China, Redmi S2 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, a mid-range octa-core processor 2.0GHz with Adreno 506. The chipset is also applied in Xiaomi Mi A1. For the operation system, Redmi S2 will run Android Oreo 8.1 with the user-interface MIUI 9.

In addition, Xiaomi offers two choices of RAM storage, 3 GB with an internal memory of 32 GB and RAM 4GB/64GB in China. Each memory could be expanded using microSD.

For the screen, Redmi S2 in its original country equipped with 5.99-inch with HD+ resolution screen. The camera supported with the dual rear camera of 12 MP+5MP plus a 16 MP front camera.

Redmi S2 in China is priced at 999/1.299 Yuan or Rp2.2/2.8 million for the variant of 3/32GB and 4/64GB respectively. Xiaomi offers three color choices; rose gold, platinum silver, dan champagne gold.

However, Xiaomi Indonesia has yet further detail yet the price and specification of Redmi S2 to enter the Indonesian market.
