TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Women's teams will today, May 21 compete against Malaysia in the badminton tournament Group D of 2018 Uber Cup in Bangkok, Thailand, at 14.00 WIB.
Indonesian team manager Susy Susanti predicted that the match will be competitive. "On average, the Malaysian players and Indonesian are at the same level. So we must prepare the right strategy," said Susy.
She believed Indonesia can win over Malaysia with the hard work as to avenge the defeat in the semifinals of SEA Games last year.
In Group D of Uber Cup are Indonesia, Malaysia, France and China's team. The match against Malaysia will determine who makes it to the quarter-finals.
Currently, the Malaysian women's team has the world number 21 and 34 Gon Jin Wei and Sonnia Cheah, respectively.
The position is better compared to woman’s single Indonesian in Uber Cup this time, Gregoria Mariska, Fitriani, and Dinar Dyah Ayustine. However, in women's doubles, Indonesia has stronger players Greysia Polli/Apriyani Rahayu and Della Destiana/Rizki Amelia.
