58 Terrorist Inmates Moved from Nusakambangan Prison

TEMPO.CO, Cilacap - A total of 58 terrorist inmates were transferred from Nusakambangan Prison, Cilacap, Central Java to Gunung Sindur Penitentiary in Bogor, West Java today morning.

Cilacap Police Adj. Sr. Comr. Djoko Julianto said the regional police along with Cilacap District Military Command 0703 deployed 600 personnel to guard the route of the transfer. However, he claimed to not know where the prisoners will be moved.

He also said not to know whether those terrorist convicts were the prisoners who originally came from the prison at National Police’s Mobile Brigade HQ or Mako Brimob. "Our duty with Nusakambangan Prison only maintain the security and handed them over to the team from BNPT, Densus 88 and Mako Brimob," he stated.

Nusakambangan and Cilacap Prison coordinator Hendra Eka Putra mentioned there were 9 people from Besi Prison, 24 from Pasir Putih Prison and 25 were from Batu Prison, including two women and one infant to be transferred. He also claimed not knowing the transfer purpose.

Meanwhile, Head of Public Relations Directorate General of Correctional at Ministry of Justice and Human Rights Ade Kusmanto said 58 terrorist prisoners will be taken to Gunung Sindur Penitentiary, Bogor, West Java. "All of them are prisoners, they are still undergoing the judicial process," he added.
