TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Facebook Indonesia’s head of news partnership Alice Budisatrijo said that the social media giant will provide three additional features to filter out the sources of information circulating on Facebook.
“Our current focus is to identify which sources are credible and which are not. We will add three features to identify its sources, breaking news, and information for news sources,” said Alice during the Press Circle event at Facebook Indonesia’s office in Jakarta today.

Earlier, Facebook launched its journalism project program, in collaboration with media outlets in using Facebook as an effective medium to spread news. Alice said that news pages that are identified to be trustable and informative sources will receive a higher distribution.
“We will bring the breaking news indicator to Indonesia. Just like what happened in Surabaya, news agencies can use the breaking news indicator to attract more users and readers,” said Alice.
Another feature to be introduced by Facebook Indonesia is the “I” feature that stands for Information, located at each corner of a news post. This feature explains additional information such as the media’s identity, journalist, or other news published by the media.
