TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said the economy will not be shaken by the series of bomb attacks in Surabaya and Sidoarjo. The minister said the police’s way of handling the case can convince investors and business players to remain in Indonesia.
"We don’t want to add to the perception that Indonesia is not safe, and so we hope how [the police] are handling this will create confidence that Indonesia can maintain security," she said here on Monday, May 14.
The bombings of Surabaya's churches on Sunday were said to have been done by a family who were members of the Jamaah Ansharud Daulah (JAD) network.
"They were all suicide attacks, but the types of bombs used were different," Police Chief Gen. Tito Karnavian said in Surabaya, Sunday.
