Surabaya Bombing Victims Rises to 13 People

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Victims of the bomb explosion in three churches in Surabaya increased. Head of Public Relations Division of East Java Regional Police Commissioner Frans Barung Mangera said the death toll of Surabaya bombing is now 13 people died and 43 people injured.

“Until now, the death toll has increased to 13 people,” Barung said after accompanying President Joko Widodo and National Police Chief General Tito Karnavian gave a press statement at Bhayangkara Polda Hospital East Java on Sunday, May 13.

Barung confirmed, of the 13 victims who died, six of whom are the perpetrators of the bombing which is a family. They are Dita Uprianto (48), Puji Kuswati (43), FS (12), PR (9), Yusuf Fadil (18), and FH (16).

He added, the 43 injured victims were still being treated in several hospitals, such as Surabaya Surgery Hospital, Bhayangkara Hospital (6 people), Dr. Soetomo Hospital (3 people), and Santo Vincentius Hospital Surabaya.

"The injured victims including two police personnel," he said.

The bomb exploded in a row at the Church of the Immaculate Santa Maria on Jalan Ngagel Madya, Indonesian Christian Church on Jalan Diponegoro, and Pentecostal Church on Jalan Arjuno. The three Surabaya bombing exploded sequentially within 30 minutes.
