TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Police said there was another bomb explosion in Sidoarjo, East Java. Precisely in a Rusunawa (Low-Cost Apartment) on Jalan Sepanjang near Polsek (Police Sector) Taman, Sidoarjo. Previously there have been three bomb explosions in Surabaya.
"It is true that there was another explosion in Sidoarjo, at 09:00 pm and the explosion source was in one unit of Rusunawa Jalan Sepanjang, near Polsek Taman," said Head of Public Information Bureau Public Relations Division of Police Headquarters Brigadier General Mohammad Iqbal in Jakarta on Sunday, May 13.
Iqbal said it was suspected that the Rusunawa unit was inhabited by the suspected terrorists or families of terrorists in three churches in Surabaya on Sunday morning.
"But we do not know yet if they are there or not," he said.
He said that the police are still conducting checks at the scene to find out more. "We are still checking whether it exploded by itself or there were people who blow it," said Iqbal.
Police also have not known whether there are casualties or not at the scene of the explosion.
Three previous bombings occurred in Surabaya. The suicide bombings exploded in three nearby churches, in the Church of the Immaculate Santa Maria, Pentecostal Church and GKI Diponegoro. Police have known the identity of the bombers who are a family, the family of Dita Upriyanto.
