TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An economist with the Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (Indef), Bhima Yudhistira Adhinegara, believes that the police will immediately solve the Surabaya bombing. Therefore, Bhima is certain that the act of terror will not affect Surabaya's or the national economy.
"I'm optimistic that the authorities will quickly help Surabaya recover. So there will be little impact to investors trust," Bhima told Tempo, Sunday, May 13.

According to Bhima, investors are more concerned about economic data and Fed's interest rate hike plan.
Three bombs went off in three churches in Surabaya this morning; the Indonesian Christian Church (Gereja Kristen Indonesia) at Diponegoro, the Santa Maria Catholic Church at Ngagel Madya, and the Pentecostal Church at Jalan Arjuno.

Based on the information Tempo received, the bombs went off wone after another with about five-minutes of intervals.
East Java Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Frans Barung Mangera said eight people died in the attacks while 33 suffered injuries. The National Chief of Police Gen. Tito Karnavian is currently in Surabaya to monitor the post-bombing situation.
