TEMPO.CO, Singapore - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi attends the 11th Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth-Triangle (IMT-GT) Summit at the Shangri La Hotel in Singapore today, April 28. The meeting is one of the agendas of the 32nd ASEAN Summit in Singapore on Saturday, April 28.
Chatkaphat Bunnag from the Policy and Plan Analyst at Office of the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB) of Thailand, said that Thailand, the coordinator of the 11th IMT-GT Summit, raises the theme of connectivity within the region of the three countries in addition to other growth issues, such as financial inclusion and banking access.

IMT-GT is an ASEAN sub-regional group aimed at enhancing economic development in 32 regions in three countries, comprising 10 provinces in Indonesia, eight states in northern Malaysia, and 14 provinces in southern Thailand.
Earlier on Friday, Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi noted at a press briefing that the meeting of Jokowi, Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, and Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak will focus more on economic issues.
In addition to attending the 11th IMT-GT Summit, Jokowi will be present at the opening of the 32nd ASEAN Summit and the ASEAN Leaders Retreat Meeting to discuss regional and international issues.
