TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta National Land Agency (BPN) head Muhammad Najib Taufieq claimed he was not made aware of the asset owned by the city administration that was claimed by a third party. The assets were in the form of land located in West and East Jakarta. As far as Najib concerned, BPN has not coordinated yet with Jakarta officials on the matter.
“I’m not sure about it,” said Najib when contacted by Tempo today, April 26.
However, Najib stated the agency will give some suggestions regarding the state assets that are currently on a litigation should Jakarta administration needs a consultation.
Earlier, Jakarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno has asked for the help from Jakarta Police and BPN to secure the city assets claimed by the third party. “Because this is pro-Justitia which is still under an investigation, I cannot reveal the detail to respect the legal process,” said the deputy governor.
Sandiaga admitted he has neglected in recording and protecting the state assets as well as the legality. He asserted the documents presented by the third party are the fake ones. “We hope Jakarta Police and BPN will support our effort to restore the assets.”
Furthermore, Sandiaga Uno reminded Jakarta officials to thoroughly record the state assets following the case. Thus, he planned to establish a census of the asset this year.
