TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Police Chief Brigadier Purwadi Arianto led a ceremony of the 2018 Obedient Operation which aims to prevent accidents and traffic violations. In the troop's ceremony, Purwadi explained the target of the operation.
"Using mobile phone while driving, against the current, not using SNI helmets, piggybacking more than one person and driving underage," Purwadi said at the Polda Metro Jaya field on Thursday, April 26.
In the dutiful traffic operation, Jakarta Police will cooperate with the National Army Police and the Department of Transportation.
"This operation is combined," Purwadi said. "The force deployed is 2,380 personnel."
Purwadi hopes 2018 Obedient Operation can reduce traffic accidents.
"Hopefully our activities can prevent 50 percent of traffic accidents."
The obedient operation is a preparation for the police facing 2018 Ketupat Operation. The traffic raid is held simultaneously across Indonesia from 26 April to 9 May.
