TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Two international airlines, Qantas Airways and Jetstar Asia Airways is set to relocate its operations from Soekarno-Hatta Airport’s Terminal 2 to its new home at Terminal 3 in May.
“Exactly on May 11 two airlines will simultaneously relocate their operations,” said Angkasa Pura’s Soekarno-Hatta Airport Operation and Service Executive Manager Djodi Prasetyo on Saturday, April 21.
According to Djodi, airlines with international flights will be relocated to Terminal 3, which will install Terminal 3 and Soekarno-Hatta as a world-class airport.
Furthermore, Djodi said that Soekarno-Hatta has overtaken Changi Airport and Incheon as the busiest airport compared to the latter two.
Reports suggest that Angkasa Pura II is currently establishing a North-South connecting runway in its Eastern parts or an East-Cross taxiway and a third runway. Djodi further said that the current amount of air traffic faced by the Soekarno-Hatta airport is at 81 flights an hour, which could possibly reach 114 hours per hour.
