KAI Shares 3 Tips in Purchasing Train Ticket for Eid Homecoming

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) shared several tips to purchase the ticket of additional trains for Eid Homecoming which begins on sale early Monday, April 16. KAI Director Edi Sukmoro stated the company has expanded the bandwidth ranges from 150 MB to 400 MB to ease the customers` transaction in booking the ticket.

“This year, we have increased the bandwidth, so customers are expected to have a stable connection to search a ticket,” said Edi in Gambir station, Jakarta, April 13.

1. Check the time

Edi explained that customers need to notice the time while purchasing a ticket. The data traffic is commonly dense in the first minute the tickets released. However, customers can try another attempt at 01:00 am because in some cases, the would-be passenger does not pay the ticket within an hour the ticket booked.

2. Alternative 'destination'

Customers should prepare an alternative transit ticket in advance if the ticket destination sold out. For instances, if the destination is Semarang, the customer can book a ticket of Pasar Senen- Stasiun Tegal route and continue the journey by KA Tegal-Semarang.

3. Always Stand-by

The last tips, check the website regularly or call the contact center at 121 as to monitor the available ticket because the ticket will be shown if the would-be passenger canceled the ticket or did not make a payment.

Edi further called on the public to purchase the ticket via official places such as KAI Access, KAI’s official website, minimarkets, payment point online bank system (PPOB), and other websites and mobile applications in cooperation with KAI.

“Do not buy the ticket from anyone who claims able to get a ticket because you may fall into a fraud victim,” said Edi.
