TEMPO.CO, Bandung - West Bandung Regent Abu Bakar denied information saying that he was detained by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). However, he admitted two KPK officers came to his residence in Kota Baru Parahyangan, West Bandung, Tuesday, April 10.
“KPK officers asked for statement and clarification since the commission received many reports,” said Abu Bakar. One of the requests is to clarify his position in the successful team of his wife Elin Suharlia who is running the election as a candidate for West Bandung Regent.
“I was accused of instructing the regional agency head to raise the campaign fund,” he added.
Abu Bakar claimed he did not know that his staff has been detained by the anti-graft commision as well as the closure of one of SKPD's (regional working unit) office. “I don’t know any information related to SKPD.”
Abu Bakar went on to say to be ready should KPK need further testimony for the investigation. “Any time, anywhere I’m ready.”
