TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A Slovakian hiker Andrey Voytech (39) was found dead after he was reported missing while hiking Mount Merbabu in Semarang, Central Java. He was first reported missing on Friday, March 30.

The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) Chief Noer Isrodin Muchlisin revealed that Andrey’s body was discovered at the Kalimenek River at 08:40 am, ”It is suspected that Andrey freefell from the height of 13 meters,” he said today, April 7.

Noer presumed that Andrey met his fate after he sustained serious injuries because of an accidental fall caused by either disorientation or hypothermia. However, the official cause of death has yet been announced considering that the evacuation process is still ongoing.
