Transport Minister To Apply Odd-Even System on 2 Toll Roads

TEMPO.CO, Bekasi - Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said he will implement a special policy, the odd-even system, on Jakarta-Bogor-Ciawi toll road and Tangerang-Jakarta toll road. It will be enacted following the successful implementation of the odd-even system policy and truck restrictions at the toll booth of Bekasi Barat and Timur to Jakarta-Cikampek toll road.

"The policy that will be implemented is the even-odd system, truck restrictions, and the provision of special premium bus lines," Budi said in a press conference at Green Line post, Mega City mall, Sunday 18 March.

According to Budi, the system will be enacted on the Jagorawi toll road. However, of the three policies, only one will be applied, namely the provision of special lanes for premium buses.

The difficulty of alternative routes and the small number of trucks passing the Jagorawi toll road is the reason why only one policy applied, Budi said.

"The plan, at least two weeks it will be applied," he said.

As for the Tangerang-Jakarta toll road, Budi said the three policies will be implemented. Currently, the plan is still being discussed and Budi asked the Tangerang City Council to give an opinion.

"Maybe it will be implemented in one or two months. Currently, it is still being discussed together with the relevant stakeholders. Please, Tangerang residents may convey their opinion, "said Budi.
