TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Police Chief General Tito Karnavian received the highest three TNI (Indonesian National Army) awards today, Wednesday, March 14.
The three awards are Bintang Kartika Eka Paksi Utama from TNI AD (Army), Bintang Jalasena Utama from TNI AL (Navy), and Bintang Swa Buana Paksa Utama from TNI AU (Airforce).
"This award is a great pride for me and the Police," said Tito after receiving the award at the TNI Headquarters, East Jakarta. The award was given directly by the Chief of Staff of TNI AD and AL, and the TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto.
Tito is considered to have contributed to the progress and development of the TNI even though he is not a member of the TNI. "This award is a symbol of the cooperation and coordination of the TNI and Polri (National Police) which has been relatively good," he said.
Tito explained that the Polri also awarded the Bintang Bhayangkara Nararya and Bintang Bhayangkara Utama to Hadi while serving as TNI AU Chief of Staff, Laksamana and to the Chief of Staff of TNI AD and AL. The award, said Tito, was given when Badrodin Haiti served as the Chief of Polri.
In the conferment procession, Hadi also received the highest award from the TNI AL and AD. Hadi is considered to have contributed to the progress and development of the TNI.
