Sudirman-Thamrin area

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The plan of Sudirman-Thamrin street revamp by logging and removing 451 trees was rejected by Jakarta residents. Jakarta Administration will redesign the Sudirman-Thamrin area to welcome the Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta.

Giri Anggana, an online motorcycle taxi (ojek) driver who works around the Sudirman area, behind the Atma Jaya campus, Semanggi, disagrees if 451 trees in Sudirman-Thamrin would be cut down or moved. "I hope it won't be realized because it will [make the road] less green," said Giri.
