TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The attorney who filed a judicial review (PK) of the blasphemy convict Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok, Josefina Agatha Syukur, is optimistic that the PK will be accepted. According to Josefina, if they were not optimistic, the legal effort would not be done.
“As a lawyer, we have to be optimistic, otherwise, why should we make this effort,” Josefina said at her office, Monday, March 5.

Josefina's statement was a response to some parties who considered the substance material of the proposed PK was not strong. In the case, some parties considered that a novum (new evidence) was not submitted along with the judicial review filing.
However, Josefina mentioned that she did not want to say much about it. She was also reluctant to explain the substance of the PK that has been filed.

Ahok proposed a judicial review nine months after his verdict on blasphemy case was set in May 2017. The PK files which will be delegated to Supreme Court (MA) is still waiting for the inzage process by lawyers and public prosecutors.
