Adelina, 28, was found weak and helpless on her employers' porch in Permai City Park, Bukti Mertajam, Penang, Malaysia, on Saturday two weeks ago. At that time, a number of injuries were found in the arms, legs, and faces of the women from East Nusa Tenggara. Adelina was hospitalized at Bukit Mertajam Hospital, but her life could not be helped, the day after she was rescued from her employer's home, 10th February.

Before she died, Adelina had revealed that she had been beat up and forced to sleep outside her employer's home, along with a pet dog. She experienced this inhumane torture during the past month.

Malaysian police have named three people with the initials ML, MA, and JY as suspects in cases of alleged persecution that killed Adelina. Two suspects, Adelina's female employer, and brother were arrested on February 11. The next day, the police arrested the biological mother of Adelina’s employer.
