TEMPO.CO, Bojonegoro - As many as 1,628 residents from a number of villages in Kalitidu, Bojonegoro - East Java, were displaced to a number of shelters due to flash floods caused by the overflowing of Bengawan Solo River entering residential areas on Friday, Feb. 23.
Based on a report from Bojonegoro Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), Bojonegoro BPBD head Andik Sudjarwo explained that 1,249 families spread across 60 villages in 11 districts were affected.

"The highest number of residents seeking shelter is spread across several villages in Kalitidu District. They are displaced to a number of locations," he said.
In addition to inundating thousands of houses, the flash floods also inundated thousands of hectares of agricultural areas in Kalitidu District.
BPBD, Andik went on, has deployed dozens of personnel to close the water access to stop water from entering city areas.
