Sandiaga Uno Discusses 2018 Asian Games Issues with Japan

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno flew to Japan to counsel with the 2020 Tokyo Olympic committee about transportation issues for the 2018 Asian Games. Sandiaga led the Jakarta Government team to meet Yuichi Matsumoto as Transportation Director of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Bureau in Tokyo, Japan.
Sandiaga said there are several things that can be applied to Jakarta Provincial Government during the Asian Games. "One of them is the arrangement of spectators by using trains and the road arrangement for athletes," he said in a written statement at Tokyo Metropolitan Government office, Japan, Thursday, February 22.

Sandiaga stated that some construction work in Jakarta which is still in the progress needs to be halt. "During the Asian Games, any construction work, especially the government project, must be suspended, so that construction trucks, workers, and others do not use public roads," said Sandiaga.
Tokyo Olympic Committee also gave suggestions to overcome the human and traffic congestion around the 2018 Asian Games venue. They recommend the city administration (Pemprov DKI) to hold some interesting events elsewhere.
In his visit, Sandiaga Uno also met the leader of Japanese multinational company, Nippon Electric Company. According to Sandiaga, NEC expressed its readiness to cooperate for the Asian Games 2018.
