TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A number of trains serving the southern and northern routes have ceased to operate due to flooded railway. Water swept away pebbles from rail pads.
Krisbiyantoro, the spokesperson of III Regional Operation (Daop) Cirebon of state-owned railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), explained that all trains have not been able to serve the southern route (Cirebon-Ciledug-Prupuk-Purwokerto) and northern route (Cirebon-Tegal-Semarang).

About 1,100 meters of the southern route railway has been flooded. In addition, 700 meters of the railway was affected by the flood as pebbles were swept away. In the northern route, water as high as 13 centimeters soaked the railway.
As a result, the entire train schedules have been affected. The flood disrupted 46 train trips serving the southern route and 84 others serving the northern route.
