Setya Novanto`s Trial, Nazaruddin and Mekeng Become Witnesses

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The next trial of the electronic identity card (e-KTP) corruption defendant Setya Novanto held today, Monday, February 19. The trial agenda is witness examination from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) prosecutors.
One of the witnesses is former Democratic Party Treasurer Muhammad Nazaruddin. He claimed that he will provide information for Setya.

Previously, Nazaruddin confirmed that the money worth US$ 2 million and US$ 2.5 million was given to the former Minister of Home Affairs, Gamawan Fauzi, for winning the tender for e-KTP procurement project. He has also seen that the Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo received US$ 500 thousand.
Based on Tempo observation, there was also former Chairman of Budget Board of the House of Representatives (DPR) Melchias Markus Mekeng. He is a cadre from the Golkar Party.

His name was listed in the indictment of former Director General of Population and Civil Registry of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Irman and former Director of Information Management Administration of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Sugiharto.
Melchias Mekeng is said to have received US$ 1.4 million from the e-KTP project but he denied it.
