President Jokowi to Watch Presidential Cup Finals

TEMPO.CO, JakartaPresident Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has confirmed his plan to watch the President Cup 2018 finals at the Bung Karno Sports Stadium in Jakarta, Saturday, Chief of the event`s Steering Committee Maruarar Sirait said.

"I have extended the invitation to the president to watch the President Cup 2018 finals, and he is ready to watch it at the Bung Karno Sports Stadium," Sirait said on the President Cup website, Tuesday.

Sirait stated he had extended the invitation to the president at the State Palace, Tuesday. During the meeting with the president, a member of the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission XI also reported the latest developments related to the President Cup 2018 to the president.

The pre-season tournament was held peacefully thanks to the Indonesian police and the military personnel`s hard work, he stressed.

"We hope this condition is sustained until the tournament ends," he remarked.

The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) politician also revealed how the President Cup 2018 was attracting the public.

He went on to say that peddlers were happy with the holding of the President Cup 2018. "This proves that the President Cup has become public amusement. Peddlers are also pleased with the President Cup, as they are receiving more attention," he noted.

In the President Cup 2018 finals, Persija Jakarta will face the winner of Bali United versus Sriwijaya FC match, Wednesday.
