TEMPO.CO, Bandung - National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) head Comr. Gen. Suhardi Alius stated that demographic bonus that Indonesia will have in 2020-2030 can pose problems, especially related to the spread of radicalism if the government do not prepare proper channel for the human resources.
“We are excited with the high number of young people, but the government have to prepare good employment for them,” Suhardi said in Bandung on Saturday (10/2).
“Take for example may of our current young generation are looking for employment opportunities, but they cannot get a job. This can cause frustration in which radicalism can easily penetrate,” he said.
In 2020-2030 demographic bonus, Indonesia is predicted to be dominated by productive age cohort. This can be a source of human resources advantage in global competition.
