TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PT DI) has secured a partnership with aircraft manufacturer Airbus. The two companies will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) during the 2018 Singapore Airshow.

PT DI president director Elfien Goentoro said the company will establish two types of partnership with Airbus. He did not elaborate the details of said cooperation.

"In total we will sign eight agreements,” he said in Singapore, Tuesday, Feb. 6.

In the biannual Singapore Airshow held at the Changi Exhibition Center from February 6 to 11, Dirgantara Indonesia and Garuda Indonesia participated.

Three Indonesian ministers attended the event’s opening ceremony; Transportation Minister Budi karya Sumadi, Defense Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu, and the Coordinating Minister for  Political, Law, and Securities Affairs Wiranto.

In addition to Airbus, PT DI also booked orders to make N219 planes from several companies as well as regional governments. From the deals, PT DI will produce at least 20 aircraft.

Elfien said two of the companies interested to use PT Fi’s aircraft are Pelita Air and Trigana.
