TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo won the badminton tournament in India Open 2018. Indonesia won two titles because Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu also became champions.
In the final match in New Delhi on Sunday, February 4, Marcus/Kevin defeated Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen, the Danish pair.
Indonesia's first superior pair was able to defeat the opponent, the fourth superior fair, within 38 minutes. They won with a score of 21-14 and 21-16.
The winning led Marcus/Kevin incised a hat-trick in the tournament. Two years earlier, they were also the champions.
Previously, Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu also won by defeating the Thai pair, Jongkolphan Kititharakul/Rawinda Prajongjai, with a score of 21-18 and 21-15.
Unfortunately, Praveen/Melati were defeated by the Danish pair, Mathias Christiansen/Christinna Pedersen, as the fifth superior pair, within 37 minutes, with a score of 21-14 and 21-15.
In the badminton tournament of India Open 2018, Badminton Association of Indonesia (PBSI) only targets one title.
