Sampang Police Names Student Suspect for Murdering Teacher

TEMPO.CO, Sampang - Sampang Police of Madura Island, East Java, finally named a student HI as a suspect in the murder case of SMA Negeri I Torjun (Senior High School) art teacher Ahmad Budi Cahyono taking place on Thursday, Feb. 1.
The police found two incriminating evidence and questioned a number of witnesses. The suspect HI is the victim’s student.

"We named the suspect after questioning nine witnesses. Thereafter we named him suspect right this evening," Sampang police chief AKBP Budi Wardiman said in Sampangon Friday evening.
Ahmad Budi Cahyono is a part-time art teacher. He was punched by his own student on his right temple on Thursday at 1 p.m. while teaching.

After the attack, they resolved the incident. Once the teacher got home, he went limp and nauseous. He died after he was brought to Sampang hospital and referred to Dr Soetomo hospital in Surabaya.
The suspect will be charged with battery causing death and will receive 7 years of imprisonment. In the legal procedures, the suspect will be assisted by Sampang Integrated Care Center for the Empowerment of Women and Children (P2TP2A), a psychiatrist and a number of social workers.
