TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of Tourism and Culture of Jakarta Tinia Budiati said Maritime Museum is reopened on Tuesday, January 23. The museum was burned last week, until last night it is still in the process of repair. "I am now at the museum for the final checking before it is opened," Tinia said, on Monday night, January 22.

Tinia ensures that, besides the burned area of the museum, the other area is ready to be visited. Indonesia Historia Community (KHI) has made an invitation about the opening of the museum. The invitation reads: "Dear Management Team, Volunteer, Intern, KHI and the general public, in order to give full support to the Maritime Museum, KHI will attend the Maritime Museum's opening invitation to the public following the case of fire on January 16.
Maritime Museum in Penjaringan, North Jakarta, had burned on January 16. The fire was first seen around 08:50 local time and could be extinguished about three hours later. Allegedly the fire triggered by the electrical short circuit.
