TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The candidacy of Social Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa as a Governor of East Java in the 2018 election sparked the news that President Jokowi reshuffled the Working Cabinet.
According to information from Tempo sources, Jokowi will inaugurate a number of new ministers, including the substitute of Social Minister Khofifah at the State Palace this morning, Wednesday, January 17, at around 09:00 am.
An invitation letter to the inauguration of Social Minister was issued along with an invitation to Air Force Chief of Staff (KSAU), Chief of Staff of the Presidency, and a new Presidential Advisory Council.
Earlier, presidential spokesman Johan Budi SP said, Jokowi immediately decide the fate of Khofifah, will be retained in the cabinet or replaced.
"Soon it will be decided by the President regarding the submission of Mrs. Khofifah's resignation from the Cabinet," he said in a written statement on Thursday, January 11.
The rumor of reshuffle volumes 3 of the Working Cabinet have long been in circulation after numerous indications, for example, Khofifah advanced in the 2018 election until the coalition party, the National Mandate Party, which often opposes its position with the Government.
On various occasions, President Jokowi denied that he would do the reshuffle. Even if there is a reshuffle, according to him, he is the one who knows about when he will use his prerogative rights.
Khofifah Indar Parawansa has sent a resignation letter to Jokowi some time ago. However, Jokowi has not stated his decision.
Idrus Marham, Secretary-General of Golkar Party, was mentioned to be the Social Ministers, replacing Khofifah, on the last day of the Golkar General Assembly (Munaslub) on Wednesday, December 20, 2017. In the Golkar draft decision letter received by Tempo, Idrus Marham’s name was prepared to fill the Social Minister position.
Moeldoko, the former TNI Commander, was also mentioned to replace Teten Masduki as the Head of KSP.
