TEMPO.CO, Bandung - National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) reported that a victim died struck down by building materials in Ciamis due to an earthquake that hit southwest Tasikmalaya, West Java, on Friday night.
“One victim died in West Java," West Java Basarnas spokesperson Joshua Banjarnahor said on Saturday, Dec. 16.
He revealed that the victim is identified as Dede Lutfi (62), a resident of Gunungsahari Village, Sadanaya District, Ciamis Regency, who died as he was struck down by the debris of the house.
In addition, Banjarnahor continued, six residents of Ciamis Regency were injured and houses were damaged.
"Six are injured, eight houses are severely damaged, 15 houses had moderate damage," he went on.
Basarnas also received reports of damaged houses and injured residents of Pangandaran Regency, Tasikmalaya, Garut and Banjar.
