TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police’s counterterrorism unit Densus 88 have arrested 12 alleged terrorists in South Sumatra. “Further investigations will be launched,” South Sumatra Police Chief Insp. Gen. Zulkarnain Adinegara said today.
The arrests were made following the recent arrest of a firearms dealer who sold guns to terror rings in Ogan Komering Ulu District.

The 12 men are not yet named suspects, police said. Densus 88 continues to question them.
Zulkarnain said that they have been taken into custody over alleged links to Jemaah Anshorut Khilafiah, a terror ring busted in August in Jambi.
Earlier, Densus 88 cracked down on a terrorist ring in East Java. National Police chief Gen. Tito Karnavian recently said that police are anticipating possible terror attacks on Christmas.
