TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Narcotics Agency (BNN) East Kalimantan has shot dead a Malaysian drug lord with the initials of AT for trying to escape arrest. Authorities seized three kilograms of crystal meth in the process.
Suspect AT visited Indonesia via Entikong border checkpoint and was immediately arrested as the BNN and customs officials had long hunted the person.
“When the suspects were being taken to Pontianak… suspect AT tried to escape and we decided to take a harsh action by shooting the person dead, whereas three other arrested suspects… who are Indonesians, are now being detained for further investigation,” BNN West Kalimantan chief Brig. Gen. Nasrullah said today in Pontianak.
The drug trafficking case was revealed after BNN West Kalimantan arrested three suspects for carrying 3 kilograms of crystal meth in a car.
“To fool officers, the three suspects hid the drugs in the car’s engine air filter. But thanks to the officers’ keen eye, the smuggling was revealed,” he said.
After the arrest, the authorities cracked down on the drug lord who reportedly would deliver a large amount of crystal meth but they only found 3 kilograms.
