TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Golkar Party’s central executive board (DPP) chairman Andi Sinulingga said that the legal case of Setya Novanto is a momentum to revive the party. “I believe the best way is to find an alternative as suggested by Jusuf Kalla, Ginandjar Kartasasmita. Dedi Mulyadi also conveyed the need of reviving the party,” Andi said in Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Saturday (18/11).
Previously, the Vice President who is also the former party’s chairman Jusuf Kalla affirmed that Golkar Party’s members have to take measures to save the party. "When the chairman is gone what happens to the party? So the party should be gone too?" JK said in Jakarta on Thursday (16/11).
Andi explained that this case makes it difficult to discuss party-related matters with the chairman.
“With his status, we need to coordinate with the hospital and to deal with certain procedures. It will be very difficult to hold any discussion with the chairman,” Andi added.
Andi revealed that a lot talks have been circulating on replacing Setya Novanto as the party’s chairman. He continued that the party will hold a meeting to determine the replacement for Setya Novanto next week.
