TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The police made their move only one day after the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) released a notice letter marking the start of the agency’s investigation into House of Representatives (DPR) Speaker Setya Novanto’s involvement in the electronic ID card (e-KTP) corruption case. The police also issued its own investigation warrant for two KPK leaders, Agus Rahardjo and Saut Situmorang, on November 7.

The KPK’s summons for Setya was signed by Director of Criminal Investigation Aris Budiman on October 31, and sent three days later and circulated among the public through a WhatsApp group last Monday. The police named Agus and Saut suspects based on a report filed by Sandy Kurniawan, Setya’s lawyer, in mid-October.

- Madun Hariyadi, an activist with the NGO, State Wealth Rescuers Movement, reports KPK Chairman Agus Rahardjo for suspected corruption in the procurement of facilities and infrastructure for the new KPK building in 2016.

It was Fredrich Yunadi, Setya Novanto’s lawyer, who represented Madun when the latter was reported on the accusation of extortion in the name of the KPK in 2014.
