TEMPO.CO, Bandung - West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan (Aher) said that there is no ban on the operations of online transport services in the province.

On conventional transportation operators’ demand, Aher said that he has conveyed the message to the Transportation Ministry.
Aher said that public services, which include online ride-hailing transportation, should be regulated. “Technology should become part of our lives. The problem is, when a technology is used for public services, a regulation is needed. So it is currently not banned but there is a lack of regulation as well. Therefore, a regulation is due because it relates to public services, it relates to public safety,” he said.
