TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As many as 32,964 Honda motorcycle lovers gathered at Honda Bikers Day (HBD) 2017 that was held in three major Indonesian islands and ended at Gading Airport in Yogyakarta on Saturday night.
“The number of communities and lovers of Honda motorcycles continue to grow over the years as Honda motorcycles become more varied in the market,” General Manager of Marketing Planning & Analysis Division of PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) A. Indraputra stated in a press release received by Tempo today.
He said that the annual event was aimed at creating unity among bikers and Honda motorcycle lovers across Indonesia.
Titled “Brotherhood in one adventure”, the 9th HBD brought together Indonesia Honda bikers.
AHM and West Sumatra main dealers PT Hayati Pratama Mandiri opened a series of HBD events in Ngarai Sianok, Bukittinggi, attended by 2,823 bikers.
Honda bikers gathering continued with the second regional event initiated by West Kalimantan main dealer Astra Motor Pontianak in Rumah Radakng, Pontianak, attended by 2,332 bikers.
The last regional event was held in Akarena Beach, Makassar, attended by 2,467 bikers and organized by South Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi and South Maluku Honda main dealer Astra Motor Makasar.
The main event was held in Yogyakarta by main dealer Astra Motor Yogyakarta on Saturday.
A. Indraputra said that the number of HBD participants continues to rise over the years as new Honda motorcycle lovers and communities emerge.
This year’s edition of HBD saw 41 percent more participants than last year, from 23,296 to 32,964 bikers. The estimated participants in the main event in Yogyakarta were 25,342 bikers.
At the HBD 2017, AHM offered the chance to test ride new Honda motorcycles, such as Honda CRF250RALLY, All New Honda CBR250RR, Honda CBR150R, Honda CB150R StreetFire, dan Honda Supra GTR150.
AHM also campaigned safe riding through hashtag #Cari_Aman that encouraged Honda bikers to play games with safe riding themes.
