TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian motorcycle exports soared in September. The Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI) reports on October 15 that the total exports last month stood at 42,005 units.
The figure represented 77.73 percent increase compared to the same period last year of 23,634 units.
PT Kawasaki Motor Indonesia was the only sole agent (APM) that failed to record positive performance at the global market. Kawasaki sold only 288 motorcycles Last month or dropped 48.57 percent compared to September last year of 560 units.
Meanwhile, other sole agents managed to improve their performances. PT Astra Honda Motor’s sales jumped from 3,709 to 11,048 units, PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales sold 18.92 percent more motorcycles from 2,446 to 2,909 units.
PT TVS Motor Company Indonesia posted a 33.23 percent year-on-year increase to 2,019 units and PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing motorcycle sales rose by 68.25 percent from 14,900 to 25,070 units.
