TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Online shop Tokopedia and online-based taxi service provider Uber will integrate Uber’s taxi hailing app to Tokopedia’s e-commerce platform.
“We’re excited to announce that we’re beta-testing the integration of Uber service with Tokopedia’s platform,” said Tokopedia chief of staff Melissa Siska Juminto as quoted by Bisnis yesterday, October 3.
However, Uber spokesperson declined to comment on the app integration.

Dealstreetasia website earlier reported that the cooperation between Tokopedia and Uber covers the use of Tokopedia’s digital wallet TokoCash to pay Uber services. Both companies are also discussing the possibility of Uber drivers delivering goods for Tokopedia.
However, the use of TokoCash for Uber payment could be postponed as Tokopedia is currently in the process of applying a permit for the digital wallet feature. Tokopedia CEO William Tanuwijaya earlier said that the permit application is a part of the company’s strategy to expand TokoCash services.
“We decided to expand TokoCash services by applying an electronic money permit to Bank Indonesia. Therefore, we’re temporarily suspending the TokoCash top-up feature,” William said in a press release yesterday.
