TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State power company PLN begins the construction of an extra-high-voltage transmission line of 500 KV at the North Coast Route (Pantura) of Java. The facility will run through 21 cities and districts along the coast line of West Java and Central Java.
"The construction of transmissions and substations for the northern route of Java is on time. When the power plants are operation, the power can be evacuated to the load center to be distributed the customer," PLN general manager for Central Java II Amihwanuddin said last weekend.

The main network will support power production from a 2x1,000 MW steam power plant in Batang, Central Java, and the Java Gas 1 gas power plant with 1,760 MW capacity.
PLN also builds extra high voltage substations (GITET) of 500 KV; Batang Ekstensi and Batang Baru. The projects are undertaken by Citramasjaya Teknik Mandiri with a contract value of Rp417 billion.
PLN regional director of Maluku and Papua Ahmad Rofiq said the transmitter construction for the 35,000 MW project has reached a progress of 15 percent or 6,819 circuit- kilometer.
