Garuda Travel Fair 2 Targets Rp501bn from Ticket Sales

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National flag carrier Garuda Indonesia and Bank Negara Indonesia are holding the second phase of Garuda Travel Fair (GATF) in 22 big cities in Indonesia. Garuda Indonesia CEO Pahala Mansury targets a Rp501 billion revenue from the total of ticket sale at the event with the Rp283 billion target for Jakarta.
"At the previous event, we targeted 140,000 visitors, now we target to attract 150,000 visitors," he said at the opening ceremony of Garuda Travel Fair phase 2 in JCC, Friday, Sept. 22.
According to Pahala, people’s interest to go on vacation has been increasing. The budget to travel has also been improved. It is shown in the public's interest at the travel event.

The Garuda Travel Fair 2 will also be held online in the big cities around the world, include Singapura, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Mumbai, Hong Kong, Beijing, Canton, Shanghai, Chengdu, Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Amsterdam and London.
"We hope it would be able to attract travelers from outside of Indonesia," Pahala said.
The second phase of GATF 2017 is also held in big cities in Indonesia, such as in Batam, Palembang, Kupang, Balikpapan, Makassar on Sept. 15-17; Medan, Pekanbaru, Lampung, Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Denpasar, Semarang, Solo, Yogyakarta, Malang, Lombok, Manado on Sept. 22-24; and Ambon, Sorong, Jayapura, Timika on Sept. 29 to October 1.
At this event, Garuda Indonesia and BNI offer a cashback until Rp1.7 million at the ticket purchase for the BNI Premium credit card and BNI Garuda Indonesia debit cardholders.
In addition, the BNI CC holders can also get an extra cashback until Rp1.5 million by redeeming the card's Reward Points. The credit card holders also benefited by 0 percent installment until 12 months for every transaction at the Garuda Travel Fair.
