TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Flight ticket sales at airline counters dropped 50 percent as more passengers use online ticket booking platform.
Radial Dasa, a supervisor of the Palembang branch of Sriwijaya Air, confirmed that online ticket sales significantly affect ticket sales airline counters. Radial explained that booking tickets today is easier as people can book tickets anywhere from an app.

Although the figure has dropped about 50 percent a month, Radial expressed optimism that many passengers will continue to reserve tickets from counters. In a bid to maintain the sales figure, Radial said that his airline will improve services by approaching government institutions, state-owned companies, and private companies, and loyal customers.

“Sriwijaya Air relies on loyal customers and group booking. One of the disadvantages of booking tickets online is that institutional customers, for instance, government institutions, state-owned companies, and region-owned companies, cannot reserve flight tickets in a considerable number for gathering or comparative study purposes,” Radial explained.
