PT KAI Operates 15 Extra Trains during Long Weekend

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned railway company PT KAI will be operating 15 extra trains this weekend that coincides with the Islamic New Year holidays, 1 Muharram 1439 H.

PT KAI Jakarta chapter spokesman Suprapto said that there will be 12 more executive trains from Gambir Station and 3 economic class trains from Pasarsenen Station.

He went on to say that extra trains will operate on September 20-25 within a specified operational time.

The company will operate 15 additional trains bound for Cirebon (3 trains), Bandung (6), Surabaya (2), Yogyakarta (2) and Solo (2).

He said that the aim of operating additional trains is to reduce congestion on urban roads and meet the need for rail transport.
