Indonesia Takes On Thailand in AFC U-16 C`ship Qualifier Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia will take on Thailand in AFC U-16 Championship qualifier Group G today at Rajamanggala Stadium, Bangkok. The match will start at 7:30 pm local time.
Earlier in the AFF U-16 Championship in June, Thailand defeated Indonesia in the early round by 1-0.
The U-16 captain David Maulana said that the team will redeem themselves in the wake of the loss. “Whatever the challenge is, we will work hard to strive for [the victory of] Indonesia,” he said.
Coach Fakhri Husaini has also expressed his readiness ahead of the upcoming match. “We have observed their style of play and we have evaluated our performance in yesterday’s Timor-Leste clash,” he said yesterday.
Indonesia currently sit atop of Group G table, having collected six points from two games, whereas Thailand have three points from the same number of games.
The best team in each group will go through to the final rounds. The best runners-up will compete for five other tickets. Host Malaysia are given an automatic qualification.
