TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The total of humanitarian aid provided by Indonesian Government for Rohingya refugees in Rakhine State in the borders of Bangladesh and Myanmar has reached 54 tons. Nevertheless, such aid is considered insufficient due to the high number of refugees.
Indonesian Government prepared instant food, family kit, blanket, water tanks, and tents for the refugees. Those items are chosen considering the urgency of the condition of the ethnic Rohingya.
"It is not enough despite the fact other countries also provide extra aid," National Disaster Mitigation Agency’s Director of Emergency Response Junjungan Tambunan said through Presidential Office press bureau head Bey Machmudin on Saturday (16/9).
Junjungan continued that the 54 tons of Indonesia Government aid is the total aid distributed until the third day of delivery. Aid will continue to be provided since the number of refugees reaches 720 thousand people.
