TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The 12th Jogja Fashion Week (JFW XII) with the theme Dream in Harmony has been officially opened at Jogja Expo Center, Yogyakarta, August 23. The event will be ended on August 27.

The event, held by the Yogyakarta Industry and Trade Agency, was marked with a siren triggered by Gati Wibawaningsih, director general for small and medium industries at the Industry Ministry, and Budi Antono, head of the Yogyakarta Industry and Trade Agency.

“We hope that the 13th Jogja Fashion Week will boost the development of creative industry sector and fashion products in particular,” Budi said.

Budi claimed that the 2017 JFW XII is independently managed by his institution. Previously, the JFW event was held by the Yogyakarta Trade and Industry Ministry, in collaboration with the Yogyakarta Tourism Ministry.

“This year, we have set a target to book Rp600 million worth of transaction and attract 4,000 visitors during the five-day expo,” he said.

The 12th JFW will feature fashion exhibition, fashion seminar, fashion competition, fashion show, fashion art, talk show and carnival.

"The Yogyakarta administration fully supports the Jogja Fashion Week event. And the entry to the expo is free of charge," Budi added.

The carnival, which will be held on the last day, August 27, will feature various fashion products along Jalan Malioboro. The carnival will start from Hotel Inna Garuda to the zero-kilometer point.
