Jasa Marga Expects 5 New Toll Roads Fully Operational by Year End

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned toll road operator PT Jasa Marga has set a target to open five new toll roads in Java and Sumatra by the end of this year.
Based on data from Jasa Marga as of today, August 18, the constructions of the five toll roads have progressed to 90.54 percent for the Surabaya-Mojokerto toll road, 81.54 percent for the Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi toll road, 73.97 percent for the Ngawi-Kertosono toll road, and 20.85 percent for the Gempol-Pasuruan toll road. Meanwhile, the Solo-Ngawi toll road had been opened during the last Eid holiday season.

By the first semester of 2017, Jasa Marga as opened 15 toll roads with a total length of 600 kilometers. Currently, the company is constructing 16 new toll roads that are expected to be completed by 2019. Of the 16 toll roads, five have been opened, while 11 others are in the land acquisition and construction stages.
Earlier on August 3, 2017, Jasa Marga opened the Gempol-Bangil segment of the Gempol-Pasuruan toll road.
The company is also planning to open the Bawen-Salatiga section of the Semarang-Solo toll road in the third quarter of this year. The construction has been completed and was opened for cycling and jogging events.
